About: Markdown Previewer
The Markdown previewer renders your text next to the editor as you type. It supports GitHub Flavored Markdown: headings, lists, blockquotes, tables, task lists, strikethrough and code blocks. Use it to proofread a README, draft documentation, or prepare a ticket or a message before posting it. Slash commands and a syntax reference help you insert elements, and a shared editing link lets several people write the same document together.
Features
- Live GitHub Flavored Markdown preview: tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks and fenced code blocks.
- Slash commands at the start of a line to insert a heading, list, link, image or code block.
- A syntax reference panel, filterable by category, that inserts each example at the cursor.
- Lists continue automatically when you press Enter, and Tab or Shift+Tab indent and outdent.
- Real-time shared editing with other participants' cursors, plus read-only and editable-copy share links.
How to use it
- Type or paste your Markdown into the editor.
- Type / on a new line to insert an element, or open the reference from the toolbar.
- Check the result in the preview, which updates as you type.
- Share the document with a read-only, editable-copy or shared editing link.
Questions about usage
It's the Markdown dialect GitHub uses. On top of the basic syntax it adds tables, task lists with [ ] and [x], strikethrough with ~~, autolinks and code blocks fenced with ```. A README written here will render very close to how it looks on GitHub.
Not unless you share it. Rendering happens in your browser, and the text is stored in the page address after the #, a part browsers never send to the server. When you create a share link, the content is encrypted in your browser first, so the server stores data it cannot read.
Separate columns with pipes and put a row of dashes under the header: | Name | Role |, then | --- | --- |, then one line per row. Colons in the dash row, like :---: or ---:, center the column or align it to the right.
