The Manifesto

Tegmen

Static Web Tools for Devs & Creatives - a space of clarity amid digital chaos.

Why Tegmen?

Tegmen (n. from Latin: roof, cover, envelope, protection).

Tegmen was born from a fundamental need in the digital life of developers and creatives: finding a space of clarity amid chaos. Where the modern web often means friction, slowness, and cognitive overload, Tegmen proposes a return to essentials.

« Tityre, tu patulae recubans sub tegmine fagi » - O Tityrus, resting in the shade of the spreading beech. (Virgil, Eclogues)

The Three Meanings of Tegmen

01

The Roof & Cover

A calm space far from the noise of the internet. No ads, no pop-ups, no intrusive tracking. A vault where all your essential tools are gathered, so you can work in peace.

02

The Envelope

Each tool encodes its state directly in the URL. The URL becomes the perfect envelope for your data, encapsulating configuration and inputs to bookmark or share any precise state, without a server.

03

The Armor & Defense

Lightweight armor. 100% static (SSG) and near-instantly loaded, Tegmen defends your productivity against daily friction without disrupting your flow.

Static Architecture

Tegmen is built on Next.js in SSG (Static Site Generation) mode, ensuring near-zero load times and maximum durability - no server to maintain. Each tool encodes its state in the URL fragment (hash): bookmark any tool state or share it as a simple link, with no database or authentication required.

The interface supports two languages (French and English) and automatically adapts to the system's light or dark mode. All processing happens client-side: no data is ever sent to an external server.

A Living Project

Tegmen is developed by a developer, for web creatives. The platform is freely accessible and continuously evolving. I invite you to test it during your next projects and share your feedback to improve it together.
