About: CopyBoard

CopyBoard is a scratch board for everything that passes through your clipboard: notes, links, screenshots, audio clips and documents. Each item becomes a card you can drag between four columns. Use it to gather the resources for a task, keep code snippets and reference images in view while you build something, or sort screenshots before sending them on. It runs entirely in your browser, and you can save the whole board as a JSON file to pick it up again later.

Features

  • Paste text, a link or an image with Ctrl+V and it lands on the board as a new card.
  • Drop several files onto the page at once, whether they are images, audio clips or any other document.
  • Drag cards between four columns, resize images inline and play audio files right on the board.
  • Add a note with Alt+N or a file with Alt+O, and undo or redo any change.
  • Export the whole board, files included, to a single JSON file and import it back later.

How to use it

  1. Paste content with Ctrl+V, drop files onto the page or press Alt+N to write a note.
  2. Drag cards between columns to group them the way you like.
  3. Open or download the original file from its card whenever you need it.
  4. Click Save to export the board as JSON, then Open to restore it later.

Questions about usage

No. Files you add are stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) and never leave your device. The JSON export is also built in the browser and downloaded straight to your computer.

Plain text, web links (detected when the content starts with http:// or https://), images, audio files and any other file type. Images get a resizable preview, audio gets a player, and other files show their name and type.

Use Save / Export to download a JSON file containing every card, with attached files embedded as Base64. Load that file with Open / Import to bring the board back, on the same computer or a different one.
